Our Valley Fintry High Farm is located in it’s own private valley just fifteen minutes from the shores of Lake Okanagan. We have over four hundred acres of meadows with miles of mountain trails and refreshing streams, including Shorts Creek. We are bordered by wilderness, Second Century land and Crown land. There are no power poles to be seen and no paved roads. Our domestic electricity comes from our own generating systems and solar power. The Fintry High Farm is historically fascinating. The name originated when Lord Dunwaters, a Scottish aristocrat, bought the land many years ago and used it for his trapping line and hay farm. Fintry Provincial Park where Dunwaters manor house, barns and outbuildings are located, is six kilometers down Shorts Creek. The High Farm was named because of it’s high elevation. |
